All the proceeds from the Standard Chartered Nairobi International Marathon will go towards “Seeing is Believing”, a global initiative by Standard Chartered Chartered Bank aimed at eradicating avoidable blindness.

The Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon has a vision, "Seeing is Believing"

• There are 37 million blind people in the world
• A further 161 million people are visually impaired
• 75% of the worlds blindness is preventable or curable

Over the last four years, Standard Chartered Nairobi International Marathon through the Seeing is believing Initiative has been able to sponsor over 600 cataract operations at Kikuyu Eye Hospital, the largest eye hospital in the region. The event has also involved in the eradication of Trachoma in Ol Malo in Northern Laikipia.
