Family Fun Assembly

The Family Fun Run Assembly is behind the Start Arch on Masaba Road.
The assembly area contains the following stations

1st Aid
Left Luggage
Water

The area also has a stage on which all of the pre event animation and warm up programmes are conducted.

Assembly for the Family Fun run opens at 8.00 am

Please be considerate to other athletes during the Assembly period and start of the race

NOTE: Masaba Road and the Family Fun Assembly Area can be accessed from Aerodrome Road/Nyayo Stadium by crossing the railway line on a purpose built path opposite the Marathon Expo area within the Stadium. Please follow the directional signs.

Family Fun Route

The Standard Chartered Family Fun Run follows the route indicated on the route map

All turns and junctions for the Family Fun Race are clearly signposted.

Directional signs and Distance markers for the Family Fun Run are coloured ORANGE

It is important to note and follow the signs that will lead runners to the right or left hand lanes of the road on approach to junctions and turning points

A	Family Fun Start. Start line is on Masaba Road 50 metres from the junction with Bunyala Road start. Start Line is 430 metres before Bunyala roundabout
A-B-C-D-E	The Family Fun route is just under 4 Km long. From the Start the route follows Bunyala Road, Uhuru Highway, Haile Selassie Rd, Uhuru Park, back to Uhuru Highway and Bunyala Roundabout.
E	On returning to Bunyala Roundabout Family Fun runnersround the roundabout and down Uhuru Highway on (the side nearest to Nyayo Stadium. (opposite to normal everyday traffic flow).
F	Family Fun Run Finish. Finish line is on the Highway under the start arch for the main Marathon race 120 metres from Bunyala Roundabout.

Water, Medical and WC stations are located in Uhuru Park. They are clearly marked by signs placed at the station and signs placed 200m before the station.

Family Fun Finish

The Family Fun Run Finish is on Uhuru Highway, on the side nearest Nyayo Stadium, 100m from Bunyala Roundabout.
Participants in the Family Fun Run approach the finish in the opposite direction to normal everyday traffic.

The top 3 boy and girl finishers will be pulled to one side and given a place number (with Lanyard to be worn round the neck) indicating their finishing position.

Runners outside the top 3 should immediately leave the Finish Line Area.

PLEASE DO NOT HANG AROUND AND CAUSE CONGESTION ON THE FINISH LINE.
