The first section of the route is a tour of the City of Nairobi (the City Loop) passing through Uhuru Highway, Uhuru Park, University Way Roundabout, Kenyatta Avenue, Harambee Avenue, Haile Selassie Rd. and back past the Nyayo Stadium.
The Mombasa Road Loop
The Marathon route continues down the Mombasa Rd (the Mombasa Road loop) straight on past the half marathon turning point and crossing over to one side of the dual carriageway, but still continuing straight on, at Enterprise Rd.
The turning point on the Mombasa Road for the Full marathon is on the approach to Airport North Road (City Cabanas). From the turning point Full marathon Runners return to Bunyala Roundabout to start a second passage of the Mombasa road Loop.
The second passage is identical to the first except that on completion of the second loop, at Lusaka Rd roundabout, full marathon athletes turn into Langata Rd on route to Nyayo Stadium and the finish.
All turns and junctions for the Full Marathon are clearly signposted.
It is important to note and follow the signs that will lead runners to the right or left hand lanes of the road on approach to junctions and turning points
Full Marathon Finish
The Finish of the Full Marathon is inside the stadium. Having crossed the Finish Line and the ChampionChip Finish Mat, you will enter the Finish Funnel that will lead you out of the stadium. The top 10 finishers will be given a place number (with Lanyard to be worn round the neck) indicating their finishing position. Any of the top 10 may be pulled aside for ‘dope' testing. The top 100 finishers will have the perforated tear off strips removed from their race Numbers by an official.
Half Marathon Route
The City loop

The Mombasa Road Loop
The Half Marathon route continues down the Mombasa Rd (the Mombasa Road loop) to a Half Marathon turning point adjacent to the Panari Hotel. From the turning point Half marathon Runners return to Lusaka Rd roundabout and turn into Langata Rd on route to Nyayo Stadium and the finish.

The 10 Km route is a tour of the City of Nairobi passing through Uhuru Highway, Uhuru Park (an earlier turning point from the full marathon), University Way Roundabout, Kenyatta Avenue, Harambee Avenue, Haile Selassie Rd. and back to Bunyala Roundabout. At Bunyala Roundabout 10 km runners cross to Aerodrome Road and the Finish.

The 10 Km Finish Line is on Aerodrome Road. To approach the finish Runners cross the Highway at Bunyala Rd roundabout . The top 100 Finishers will be timed. Having crossed the Finish Line you will enter the Finish Funnel. The top 10 finishers will be given a place number (with Lanyard to be worn round the neck) indicating their finishing position. Any of the top 10 may be pulled aside for ‘dope' testing. The top 100 finishers will have the perforated tear off strips removed from their race Numbers by an official.
Family Fun Route
The Family Fun route is just under 4 Km long. From the Start the route follows Bunyala Road, Uhuru Highway, Haile Selassie Rd, Uhuru Park, back to Uhuru Highway and Bunyala Roundabout. At Bunyala Roundabout Family Fun runners cross to Aerodrome Road and the Finish.
Family Fun Finish
The Finish Line is the same finish Line as for the 10 Km Road Race. Having crossed the Finish Line you will enter the Finish Funnel. The top 3 finishers will be given a necklace indicating their finishing position.
