The 2025 edition marks not just the 22nd chapter in the marathon's remarkable journey, but also a bold step into the next era of innovation, impact, and inclusion.
We are thrilled to once again host thousands of runners at our main event in Nairobi and through our expanding satellite race in Mombasa. Building on the momentum of last year's 25,031 registered participants, we are targeting to host 30,000 runners this year.
Thanks to the continued support of key partners — Nairobi City County, the Ministry of Sports, Athletics Kenya, KENHA, and KURA — we will once again stage the marathon along the scenic Southern Bypass, with the iconic Uhuru Gardens as our start and finish venue.
We remain committed to offering a memorable and enjoyable experience for every participant. Building on the enhancements from last year, this year's marathon will feature dynamic route activations, dedicated spectator zones, shower mist stations, mobile emergency units, pacing teams, and cheering squads to energise and motivate runners throughout the course. In partnership with our sponsors, we will ensure runners are supported with hydration, fruits, and electrolytes to stay strong from start to finish.
By registering to run, you are not just chasing a personal goal — you are contributing to Futuremakers by Standard Chartered, our global initiative aimed at tackling inequality and empowering the next generation.
Beyond the race, this marathon represents a greater purpose. As we celebrate over two decades of running, we are also celebrating stories of transformation — like that of Rose, a young entrepreneur whose life was changed through our Futuremakers initiative. With support from Standard Chartered's flagship youth empowerment programme, she overcame adversity, gained life skills through the Goal programme, pursued a diploma in interior design, and is now running her own business that uplifts her community.
Funds raised go toward enhancing financial education, business skills, and access to opportunities for thousands of young people across Kenya.
On behalf of the Local Organising Committee, I extend my sincere thanks to all our sponsors, partners, and stakeholders for their unwavering support. We invite each of you to be part of something extraordinary — an experience that celebrates endurance, unity, and the power of purpose.
Get ready to run for a reason. See you at the start line.
